These terms apply to your use of DataCEVA Layoff Notices (the "service"), provided by DataCEVA LLC ("DataCEVA", "we"). By using the service, you agree to them. Your use of ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant is also governed by that provider's own terms.
The service
The service provides information from WARN Act layoff notices published by U.S. state agencies. It is free to use and needs no account. We may change, suspend or stop the service at any time.
Information only
The service is for general information. It is not legal, financial, investment or employment advice, and it does not predict future layoffs. Check important facts against the state agency's source, which each notice links to.
Accuracy and availability
Notices come from state agencies and may be incomplete, delayed, corrected or withdrawn by the state. Some states don't publish notices, and our copy of a state's list can be out of date. AI assistants may also summarize results imperfectly. We don't guarantee that the information is complete, accurate or current, or that the service will be available without interruption.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- break the law or harass, identify or contact individual employees;
- extract the data in bulk by automated means, or overload, probe or disrupt the service;
- misrepresent the information as coming from, or endorsed by, a state agency or DataCEVA.
Ending access
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
Ownership
The notices are public records. The way we collect, standardize and present them, and the service's software, belong to DataCEVA.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the fullest extent the law allows, DataCEVA is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about them will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed, and continued use means you accept the updated terms.
